Leso Dress Collection 3

The Leso Dress: part of our "Celebrating Africa" line
The leso (pronounced leh-soh) is a traditional pair of cloths that are mostly worn in coastal Kenya and Zanzibar. They typically have Swahili proverbs written along the bottom edge. Women wear them in casual situations and during formal occasions. It is also very popular to wear them at weddings. The bride's side of the family selects a specific design which is then purchased and worn by all women attending the wedding. The leso is a fashion statement and new designs are released monthly. They are also a symbol of prosperity and women typically have several pairs stored away.
